Make Good Choices, Lose Weight Faster

1.  Stop eating the same stuff you ate before.  If you eat the same way you’ve always eaten, you’ll weigh the same you’ve always weighed.

2.  Watch portion sizes.  You may be eating healthier, but are you still overdoing it on your calories?  Create a myfitnesspal, dailyplate, or loseit! account and start tracking your calories.

3.  Don’t just say you’re going to work out, commit to working out.  Then do it.  It’s so easy to say you’re going to exercise.  But talk is cheap, right?  You hit the snooze button, or are too tired after work, or want to go out for lunch with your friends.  Make a commitment to yourself just like you would to go to the dentist, go on a date, or a meeting.  Make working out mandatory, not an option.

4.  Patience, grasshopper.  It didn’t come on overnight, it won’t come off overnight.  Have patience in the process and be happy at the progress you’re making.  Celebrate the little achievements like going a week without soda, working out 5 days a week, or fitting into that shirt that didn’t fit you a month ago.  If you keep celebrating the little things, before you know it, you’ll be exactly where you want to be.

5.  Get your heart pumping.  At least five days a week, get your heart rate UP for 30 minutes to an hour.  It seems like a lot, but if you don’t get the blood flowing, you won’t rev up your metabolism, and you won’t be burning fat.  Don’t short change yourself.  Start with rule #3, then add in this rule.  Get your sweat on!

6.  This is LIFE, not just a diet.  Everyday you have to make the decision to eat healthy and exercise.  Everyday.  This is your life, not just a jeans size.  You’ll live longer, healthier, and happier.  Do this for you.  And do it forever.
